Scuba-pirate-cyborg

Those of you who actually read this for things other than stuff about my sons know that my wife has been putting Lego mini-figures on my desk with a note counting down to my birthday. On Sunday I got this guy...

scuba pirate cyborg? I have no idea.

No idea what this guy is. But then, there are lots of things from Lego I don't understand...

for example...
The next day was arguably the best Lego mini-fig I've ever seen.

How could this mini possibly be better?
you're welcome.

And finally, today's mini-fig was...

Yes, I know she misspelled Pharaoh. Shut up.
I know it may seem childish to get this into this sort of thing.
I don't care.
It's awesome.

I'm sorry...

I can't hear you over the sound of my wife's awesomeness.

Note to self...Lego Kraken.
well, yes, but I was thinking...more?
There it is.

Lego-mania

I headed home from work today and was (secretly) excited to find out what Lego figure would greet me. It was a vampire mini-fig. Awesome.

Real, non-sparkly, vampire.

Obviously I have Legos on the brain right now. At work I found some crazy awesomeness online. So, because I am so very generous I will share my findings with you.

Technology

Ultrasound technology is awesome.

There is no music on this video. I couldn't think of anything good. If you know of a good tune or two to put this to, let me know.

The Last Birthday

The other day I was in TX observing an ABA program. It was sweet, I'd love to go down their and train with the staff. But on the 3 and half hour drive home I got a text from my wife letting me known she had a surprise for me, but just a small one.

What I found when I got home was this.
That's a Lego cream pie. Awesome.
It was a little lego clown with a sign that read "8 days!".
At first I thought, sweet, 'Lego mini fig!'
Then I thought, 'Wait, that's kinda forboding, what happens in 8 days?'

I had completely forgotten my own birthday was coming up. I mean, I knew it was coming in Oct. But, it's not Oct. yet so it just didn't register that is just about a week away.

Mo had not forgotten, and as usual I suspect she is spending way too much money on it. That's kinda our thing. We don't really spend too much on ourselves, but come holidays...we hemorrhage money on each other.

B-ryan at work told me this will be the last birthday I have without a baby and thus, it is the last birthday that will matter. He's kind of a killjoy.

come on Bry, be positive.

He may be right, but I'm not too worried about it. Maybe my birthday will have less value and celebration. That's fine. There will be a whole new birthday to enjoy. Plus, I never know with Mo. She does stuff. Cool stuff.

Stuff like this.

A week of a day

The other day I got to deal with all the many and varied forms of incompetence I typically must face. How many types of incompetence do I normally deal with? Well, look at this chart...
More than types of beer.
And no, I did not have a beer to wash the rage out of my system. And no, I'm not going to talk about any of the situations. They are best dealt with and forgotten. That, or hit repeatedly with a tomahawk.
Fire optional, but preferred.
I think my only regret was that I was out of town for most of the day and going to martial arts afterward was simply a non-option.

In a mildly related note I saw my doctor the other day and got some x-rays. I've had knee pain since basically forever and the Doc wants me to see a specialist. I'm doing that on the 3rd. There is a chance I will have some surgery.

Mainly I just needed a reason to post a picture of the flaming tomahawk...because come on...it's a tomahawk on fire! It looks like a boy scout patch, and I swear if I missed out on the "Flaming Tomahawk merit badge" I will never forgive the universe.

the universe can be such a jerk.

Different kinds of memorials

I'm not going to get into the pointless political arguments over the new WTC or the memorial. I just want to take a second to post a picture of something I found that I think is neat. I'd love to say it has some sort of deep meaning and speaks to the heart of the human condition in the face of tragedy.

It doesn't.

It's just cool and something I wish I had (or could have) done.

Legos
I wish everything was so easy to rebuild.

The last thing I want to share is a picture I saw shortly after Sept 11th 2001. Everyone was still trying to cope and deal with it all. I was somewhat shocked to see what people did. DC comics released a collection of comic stories revolving around the attack. The message from the comic writers was fairly simple.

There are real heroes.

wow indeed.
