Super-slide Son-day

We went to TX yesterday for Miles' birthday. We've been looking forward to it because it's about the only time we get to see the Hendrix.

well, that and the In-N-Out burger.
We would have liked to have stayed longer, even overnight, but it just wasn't feasible. As it was we got back just in time to let mo get her homework done before homework. Mo has 11 months left till she is done with her Masters degree. That should free up our flexibility for awesome things like spending a weekend with the Hendrix.

The party itself was pretty normal for the Hendrix...

...and by "normal", I mean "awesome".
They were, as always, amazing hosts and the company they keep is wonderful. Every time I go, I meet some new friend of theirs who is awesome. It was also good to see Jennifer and her kids.

Here are a few of the highlights as the party continued:
First, Jenn and Shonda went down the slide.
Then, Jack went down...fully dressed.
Then, the magic happened.

Stressin-it Son-day

Woah. Just, for like 20 minutes, woah. Take a breath okay.

Ever since I changed a few things down at the clinic, it's been really busy at work. I created a lot more time to get things done and suddenly, I'm getting so much more done. I basically bounced from one meeting to the next all week. We also got new carpet, that was cool.

Thankfully, this coming week is spring break and I can breath a little. Mo, Jo, and I are going to New York to visit the in-laws and aunts. They've never seen Jo and Mo hasn't seen them in like 5 years. It will be cool for everyone to see each other again.

Traveling on a plane with a baby...yeah, that might be a thing.

um...why does this picture even exist?
I'll let you know how the trip goes next time. Good I hope. Going out east is always kinda weird. Every trip has been a real adventure. Sometimes a good and relaxing one...sometimes just expensive and best forgotten. It's the roads I'm dreading. The weather is cold out there still.

In other news, Jo learned a new trick.

Going to CO

Next week I will head up to Colorado to help my folks move. It's about an 8 hour drive. Normally, me and Mo take turns driving and talk to each other to keep it interesting. However, Mo and Jojo are staying here while I go alone.

Oy.
That's going to make the trip a bit more boring, at least on the way there. On the way back it will be with my folks and one of my sisters.

I've never been this far away from Jojo for this long. I'm not looking forward to it. I always miss Mo on trips like this. Last time I moved my folks from CA to CO it was horrid. By the time I got home I was desperate to see her. I imagine it will be the same for Jojo.

"Hey!"
Yes Pooka, I will miss you too.

Thankfully, this will likely be the easiest move I've ever done with my folks. They've gotten rid of a lot of stuff and over the past month, brought a few loads down. Much of the heaviest and most awkward stuff is already in storage. That will make the loading easier. I think the only really scary part is the piano, and only because it is heavy. The rest is fairly easy. More over, last time my day was still recovering from a procedure and his preparation had two parts: the part he did well and the part he didn't do. Made for a rough multi-day load in scorching heat.

The weather will be whatever it will be, but there is less to move, my dad has done a great job of preparing, much of it is already done, and the trip is shorter by more than half. So I am hopeful. Not excited about being away from Jojo and Mo though.
